About Cyril
Cyril is Board Member and Senior Advisor at Axion Lab, providing strategic advice and targeted support on sustainability and portfolio value creation. He helps strengthen the firm’s presence in France and Benelux. He also brings an industrial CEO’s perspective to its product and AI-enabled analytical processes.
He led Babcock Wanson Group as CEO from 2005 to 2025. During that period, he took the industrial heating business through three successive buyouts: the 2016 carve-out from CNIM with FCDE, Kartesia’s majority investment in 2021 and Ambienta’s majority investment in 2024. By his handover in 2025, the group employed more than 1,150 people across 11 countries.
During his tenure, Babcock Wanson expanded internationally through organic growth and acquisitions while developing its low-carbon industrial heating business. The acquisition of Parat added electric boiler technology and a presence in Northern Europe; VKK strengthened the group’s position in Germany. He brings experience of setting strategy with private equity owners and managing the teams and investments needed to put it into practice.
