About Phil
Phil works with private equity funds and portfolio companies on sustainability value creation and due diligence. He assesses sustainability risks and opportunities, their financial implications and the actions companies can take during the holding period. He also works with Axion Lab’s engineers and designers to develop the product and the analytical methods used in client work.
He has nine years of sustainability and climate risk consulting experience, including roles at ERM, EVORA Global and Arup. As a Managing Consultant at ERM, he undertook climate risk due diligence and value-at-risk analysis for private equity and infrastructure investors, including KKR, Permira and CPPIB, presenting findings to investment committees. His assignments covered water, energy, transport and mining.
At ERM, Phil managed teams of up to seven people and oversaw up to eight projects at a time. He developed post-acquisition investment cases for climate resilience and repeatable climate risk quantification services within ERM’s Climate Value service line. He also built AI-enabled tools for analysis and reporting. At EVORA Global, he combined senior sustainability consulting with product ownership, developing climate resilience services for real estate and infrastructure investors.
He has also led the technical delivery of climate resilience guidance for the International Finance Corporation. He holds an MSc in Marine Environmental Management with distinction from the University of York and a BEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
